murderWAUSEON - The man accused of killing a marine in Fulton County last April has been found guilty on two charges Thursday.
According to the Fulton County Expositor, jurors found Romualdo Cordoba guilty of involuntary manslaughter and domestic violence in connection to the fatal shooting of Joshua McJilton in Wauseon on April 25, 2015.
Cordoba claimed self-defense in the shooting. Authorities say Cordoba fatally shot 27-year-old Joshua McJilton after he tried to keep him away from his estranged wife.
Police say Cordoba, of Archbold, had stalked his wife and was waiting for her outside a pool hall on Depot Street. When she came out, Cordoba wedged his sport utility vehicle so close to her car that she couldn't get away.
Cordoba fled the scene and was captured near the Mexican border in the town of Eagle Pass, Texas on May 13 by U.S. Marshals.
Cordoba was originally charged with murder in the case. A sentencing date has not been set.
