Share Our Grounds has been operating for three years under the help of volunteers and continues to stir-up business with their friendly staff.
The coffee and bakeshop gets assistance from participants at Aspiring Hands during the week to help run their business. The adult day recreation program has around 40 clients who travel to different Lucas County businesses providing assistance with job responsibilities and in turn gain real-life experience in the workplace.
At Share Our Grounds the clients take on almost all tasks from grocery shopping, preparing food, taking orders, cleaning and interacting with customers. They even get rewarded at the end by dividing and taking home their tips.
Dishes at the café are made to order with a full brunch menu consisting of baked goods, breakfast and lunch sandwiches and salads. The coffee beans are purchased locally from Sunshine Children’s Home in Maumee and made into both hot and cold beverages.
Share our grounds operates as a nonprofit and gives back by supporting community causes. They are open daily except for being closed on Sundays.
