SJCC's Adrienne Wehring breaks school's scoring record

Adrienne Wehring now has 1,323 points in her career with St. Joseph Central Catholic (WNWO).

It took nearly four years, but senior forward, Adrienne Wehring, is now the all-time leading scorer for St. Joseph Central Catholic in Fremont.

“I never thought it would happen, coming into freshman year and playing varsity.”

Her dad, Josh, was on hand with the rest of their family to witness Crimson Streak history at Tiffin Calvert High School.

“You know, everybody likes to brag their kids up. God blessed us with a great daughter. With all three kids, let me say that. She’s very determined.”

It’s been a great year for St. Joseph. Not only did Wehring score her 1,312th point to break the record, but classmate Miranda Wammes also broke the 1,000 point barrier this season.

“It’s pretty awesome, I didn’t really expect to get it this season, but it’s kind of always been in the back of my brain. I just never thought I would get it, so to accomplish something like that is pretty awesome.”

The 17th win of the season was a big night for Wehring. She earned the game ball, and will have a banner in her honor back in Fremont.

“They’ve all worked really hard, and I know Adrienne has set a lot of goals for herself. I’m extremely proud of her. It’s a huge accomplishment to break the school record for career points," said Head Coach Mallory Holliday.

Fremont St. Joseph won the game tonight over Tiffin Calvert, 52-35. Wehring scored 16 points tonight.
