South Avenue and Spencer shooting declared a homicide

Police on the scene of a south Toledo shooting.

Toledo, Ohio (WNWO)-- The man shot at a Stop and Go gas station at South Avenue and Spencer Street has been identified as 25-year-old Dakoda Rogers.

Crews arrived and found the Rogers suffering form at least one gunshot wound.

He was at a Stop and Go Gas station when a suspect came up and started shooting. Police say the victim tried to get away in a vehicle, but ended up hitting a nearby building and another care before coming to a stop a few feet away.

The victim was taken by life squad to UTMC and was later pronounced dead.

Police can not confirm a suspect, but witnesses say they saw a black male in blue clothing running away form the scene of the crime.

Police are asking if you've seen anything to give crime stoppers a call.
