St. Patty's Day prep
TOLEDO, Ohio (WNWO) - St. Patrick’s Day celebrations are underway across Toledo. ConnecToledo said St. Patty’s Day is historically one of the biggest and busiest weekends in Toledo.
“We expect 30,000 to 40,000 people on Saturday alone,” said Cindy Kerr, with ConnecToledo.
The official kick off to the weekend will be Friday night with The Shamrockin’ Shuffle. The run being at night is new this year.
Places like The Blarney Irish Pub, who are Irish all year long, add a few twists on St. Patrick’s Day. One is opening their doors at 6:00 a.m. on Saturday.
“We’ll have a line out the door,” said Travis Beczynski, who works at The Blarney Irish Pub. “An Irish breakfast and an Irish wrap for people to snack on.”
A portion of the proceeds from the pub will go to the Firefighter’s Local 92 Charities. Other restaurants will also be serving up some specialties throughout the weekend.
