Temperance woman decapitated, step-grandson charged

MONROE COUNTY, Mich. — New details have emerged about a body found early Monday morning on the 8800 block of Lewis Avenue in Bedford Township.

The Monroe County Sheriff's Office has identified the victim as 79-year-old Cecilla Gibson, who lived in the house where she was found dead.

45-year-old Kenny McBride is believed to be Gibson's step-grandson who lives in the same home, according the the Monroe County Prosecutor's Office. He is currently in custody at the Monroe County Jail in connection to the body.

McBride has an extensive criminal history with charges like felonious assault with a dangerous weapon and multiple cases of domestic violence.

He was arraigned Wednesday in Monroe County First District Court. Records state he is charged with homicide open murder and mutilation/disinterment of a dead body.

McBride's probable cause conference is scheduled for Feb. 26.
