Toledo City Council to hold meeting over special election

Toledo, Ohio (WNWO)--Toledo City Council members will talk about putting the jail issue to another "special election" vote.

The council says it will revisit the ballot initiative to keep the jail downtown.

The Board of Elections decided Monday not to set a date for it.

Some people really want to keep the Lucas County Jail right where it is, instead of moving it to the proposed site at Detroit and Alexis Roads.

The group is not giving up.

"We're hopeful that the city of Toledo is going to do the right thing,"said Joyce Slusher with Keep the Jail Downtown . She says the group's legal counsel has been in contact with the City's legal counsel.

Council will meet next Tuesday at 1:59 p.m.
