Toledo Diocese Bishop visits with ICE raid families during the weekend
Bishop Daniel E. Thomas celebrated with family members of those involved with recent raids taking place in Erie County.
The meeting was during the regularly scheduled 1:30 p.m. Sunday Mass in Spanish for the Hispanic community at Saint Paul Church in Norwalk.
Many of the congregation included numerous families members now being detained following the recent ICE raid in Sandusky at Corso’s Flower and Garden Centers.
He went to be pastorally present as he prayed while visiting with them.
During the meeting Bishop Thomas heard first-hand of the pain, anxiety and uncertainty these families.
He also learned what the whole community is experiencing.
Through scripture Bishop Thomas reassured the congregation they always have a home in the Catholic Church.
