TOLEDO, Ohio (WNWO) — Toledo Police detectives announce on Thursday they are searching for a suspect wanted for murder in the shooting death of 3 year-old Malachi Barnes.
On January 23, 2019, murder charges were filed against Andre James White, 20, of Detroit and K’veon Carnell Giles, 18, of Toledo.
White is currently in the custody of the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office in Michigan on separate murder charges.
Tips resulting in the arrest of Giles may be eligible for a cash reward.

On November 22, 2018, Anthony Barnes was driving northbound on I-75 near Collingwood with his three young children in the vehicle.
As a vehicle drove beside the Barnes family car, multiple shots were fired and Malachi Barnes, age 3, was struck.
Malachi later died at Mercy St. Vincent’s Hospital.
On December 6, 2018, a 17 year old suspect was taken into custody and charged with complicity to commit murder.
Detectives continue to investigate Malachi’s murder.
