TPD investigating afternoon shooting in Old West End

TOLEDO, Oh. (WNWO) — Police say after further investigation, Darnell Glover shot himself accidentally.

Authorities are searching for a suspect after a Toledo man was shot in the leg while driving in the Old West End.

The Toledo Police Department was dispatched to the area of Scottwood and Islington on a shots fired call around 12:43 p.m. Thursday. Once on scene, police say several shell casings were found in the street and witnesses were questioned.

While on scene, dispatch informed the units that a victim showed up at St. Vincent's Hospital with a gunshot wound related to the scene.

The victim, Darnell Glover, told police he was driving on Islington and stopped at the stop sign at the Scottwood intersection. Glover said a black Ford, possible an F-150, pulled up next to him and the passenger opened fire. No further description of the suspects was provided.

Glover is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The investigation continues.
