Lucas County Treasurer Wade Kapszukiewicz will be the newest mayor for the city of Toledo.

With 98 percent of the vote counted, Kapszukiewicz won by more than 5,000 votes.

He got the endorsement of the Toledo Fire and Toledo Police unions, but did not receive an official Democratic party endorsement.

The mayor-elect says he's going to continue to improve Toledo's water quality as some of his first legislation when he takes office in January.

When asked what he's planning to do as his first day as mayor-elect of Toledo, he said he's going to reach out to the political community.

"The first thing I'm going to do is get on the phone and call our members of city council and let them know I'm ready to work with them. I'm going to get on the phone and call our suburban mayors, call our county commissioners and say lets get to work," said Kapszukiewicz.
