Mud Hens bats explode in 12-4 win

Toledo, OH- The Mud Hensâ?? offense came alive Tuesday night in a 12-4 win over the Bulls.

Toledo scored eight runs in the first two innings, a couple of those thanks in part to Eugenio Suarez. The short stop was 3-for-4 at the plate, including his second home run since his call up to Toledo one week ago.

Ezequiel Carrera and Luis Exposito each had two hits including a sixth-inning opposite-field home run from Exposito. It was his third blast of the year, which gave the Hens their final 12-4 lead.

Hens starting pitcher Robbie Ray struggled on the mound in his first game back with Toledo since being promoted to Detroit.

Ray lasted just 3.1 innings allowing three runs on four hits. Ray walked four and struck out four.

Toledo (24-28) and Durham (31-22) return to action Wednesday morning at 10:30 a.m.
